(August 29, 2023) – The Nature and Wildlife Discovery Center (NWDC) is hosting three (3) “Dessert & Dialogue” community listening sessions this September 2023 as part of its strategic planning process.

The goal of these community listening sessions is to allow the public to connect directly with NWDC’s Board and staff and provide feedback on the organization’s strategic plan, which is currently in development with The Civic Canopy.

Dates:

  • Virtual, Zoom: Friday, September 8th, 9:30-11:00 am
  • Mountain Campus, Beulah: Monday, September 11th, 6:00-8:00 pm
  • River Campus, Pueblo: Tuesday, September 12th, 6:00-8:00 pm

Registration is requested and may be done through hikeandlearn.org or over the phone (719-485-4444).

To make attendance more accessible for all, NWDC will provide onsite youth programming and language interpretation (if requested by registrants at least one (1) week in advance). Attendees from all three (3) sessions will also be entered into a chance to win a one-night stay at NWDC’s beautiful Horseshoe Lodge, a raptor presentation, and a Life is Good gift basket!

NWDC has not undertaken a strategic planning process since the merger of the Nature and Raptor Center with the Mountain Park Environmental Center in 2018, and is eager to engage our community to create a dynamic strategic plan that embraces our values, goals, and vision for the future.
