Elaine Lopez Pacheco, LCSW, ACSW, LMT, Senior Consultant Elaine is a licensed clinical Social Worker and massage therapist. Elaine was a founding MPEC Board member, visioning the future for MPEC. Committed to non-violence, Sr. Elaine works part-time as a clinical director/consultant for a non-profit agency, Project STEP, in CO Springs. Elaine is also an associate member with Pueblo's Veterans for Peace. Elaine is a Colorado and Pueblo native and enjoys the earth energy of her bio-region and believes that our connection to the earth facilitates balance of mind/body and spirit. Anne Warren Anne Warren is a Colorado native and 4th grade teacher. She has made countless trips to Beulah with her students to experience the power of outdoor education through MPEC and the Earth Studies program. She currently lives in Pueblo West with her husband and two boys. |
Marc Pratarelli Marc Pratarelli has been Professor of Psychology at Colorado State University-Pueblo since 1999. He has authored more than 150 research publications, books, chapters and abstracts, many of which focus on human-environment interaction. He is a member of the International Institute for the Study of Man in Florence, Italy; the current editor of the international journal, Global Bioethics; and an advisor to EU, UNESCO and Biotechnology Ethics committees. He has been a Beulah resident since 2003 and lectures internationally on the subject of environmental ethics. |
Bill Vidmar Bill Vidmar brings his long history of spending many seasons enjoying the Beulah Valley with his strong business background as a Pueblo business owner to his role as an MPEC Board Member. |
Maria Sanchez-Kennedy Maria Sanchez-Kennedy is the Manager of the InfoZone News Museum, a division of the Pueblo City-County Library. She has a Bachelors Degree in Anthropology from the University of New Mexico and a Masters in Museum Science from Texas Tech University. Her passion for science and environmental education has brought her to support the Mountain Park Environmental Center as a board member. |
Susan Finzel Susan Finzel came from Illinois in 1984 to complete an environmental education internship at the Greenway and Nature Center of Pueblo for her recreation/parks B.S degree. She has taught science at the elementary and middle school level, and now serves as the Environmental Coordinator for the Pueblo City-County Health Department, educating about pollution prevention and promoting recycling. She has a background in natural and historical interpretation, and has volunteered for the Columbine Girl Scout Council and the El Pueblo History Museum. Susan and her husband Archie Aldred like to hike and visit hot springs, and always have fun at MPEC drum circles! |
Lamar Trant Lamar Trant is a Licensed Psychologist that worked with children and adults with developmental disabilities for over 35 years. She co-owns Exquisite Taste located on historic Union Ave in Pueblo, Colorado featuring Life is good™ clothing which supports Kids Foundation - a non-profit for children facing unfair challenges. A Colorado native, Lamar has a background in tree climbing, hiking, playing with reptiles, and spending as much time outside as possible. |
Mary Twinem Mary Twinem, a Beulah resident for nearly thirty years, is a Licensed Physical Therapist and holds a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology. She loves hiking, backpacking, skiing and gardening and is passionate about her family -- two children, six grandchildren, her friends, and all things of the natural world. |
Randy Evetts Randy Evetts is the Project Director for the SS/HS initiative in Pueblo City Schools in Pueblo. He holds a masters degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in healthcare administration. Prior to his work with Pueblo City Schools, Randy worked in rural health and healthcare in New Mexico and Colorado . He also served as the Executive Director for the Southeastern Colorado Area Health Education Center for 8 years. Randy serves on a number of community and statewide boards including the Colorado Rural Health Center and the Caring for Colorado Foundation. The mountains have been an integral part of Randy’s life and he continues to love camping, hiking, fishing, snowshoeing and other related activities. |
Beverly Samek Beverly Samek brings her extensive experience as a teacher, coach and administrator to MPEC. Bev’s belief that children need physical activity in order to be healthy is a good fit with MPEC’s programs. Recently retired from Pueblo School District 60, Bev is now a Certified Life Coach. |
